Undergraduate Research Opportunity-Coastal Marine Ecology

We are seeking 3-5 undergraduate volunteers to help out with an assortment of field and laboratory tasks in a coastal marine ecology laboratory. We are currently looking for students to work a minimum of 5 hours per week during the Fall of 2023, with the possibility of continuing through the academic year.

We have a variety of laboratory work in which students will be sorting and identifying invertebrates for an ecological research project exploring the population dynamics of sandy beach invertebrate communities. You will learn about local beach ecosystems as well as gain valuable laboratory and data skills. There are also opportunities for assisting with field work. We survey fish and invertebrates from local Santa Barbara beaches and beyond.

Flexibility is a bonus. Please make sure to note if you are able to dedicate full days towards field work during the week. No experience is needed, but would be a plus!
