Interns and student leaders needed for the aquatic invertebrate lab at NCOS
Interns:
The North Campus Open Space is looking for students who are seeking lab
and field experience. For the internship credit students will spend 5
hours per week sorting and identifying organisms in an aquatic sample. 1
week will be dedicated to collecting field samples.
Student
leaders: This position is suitable for a student that is seeking
research experience, can dedicate ~6 hours per week and can commit to
working on the research project until spring 2024. Some research
knowledge or desire to learn research techniques such as R studio is
required. Student leaders will work on a group research project that
will result in a poster presentation in the spring quarter. Research
project examples include: changes in aquatic invertebrate communities in
a restoration site, Effect of submerged aquatic vegetation and algae on
aquatic invertebrate communities, and water quality effect on aquatic
invertebrate communities. This position has a $550 stipend each quarter.
