Dear UCSB Biology Students,

Have you ever wondered how to get started in research at UCSB—or what research actually looks like in different fields?

As part of UCSB's Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA) Week, we’re hosting a Research Scholar Roundtables: Navigating Undergraduate Opportunities event, where current undergraduate researchers will share their experiences and answer your questions in a small, interactive setting.

Whether you’re curious about:

  • Getting into research on campus
  • Finding mentors and building connections
  • Industry vs. academic research
  • Internships, grad school, or career pathways

…this is a great opportunity to learn directly from students who have been in your shoes.

📅 When: Friday, May 15th, 12:00–1:00 PM
📍 Where: UCSB Library, Room 1576 (CITRAL)
👥 Format: Small-group roundtables (4–5 students per table, rotating discussions)
🍕 Bonus: Snacks and drinks provided!

Spots are limited, so be sure to RSVP early—first come, first served.

👉 Sign up HERE

If you sign up but can no longer attend, please let us know so another student can take your spot.

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely

Current undergraduate UCSB research students
