Greetings! My name is Yali Zhang, and I am a Principal Investigator at the Monell Chemical Senses Center, affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. I’m excited to share an excellent opportunity in my lab—we are currently seeking a motivated soon-to-be or recent graduate to join us as a full-time, paid research technician. This position offers invaluable hands-on experience and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our ongoing research projects.
The role is especially well-suited for students interested in strengthening their applications for graduate or medical school. Technicians in our lab gain exposure to a broad range of techniques and scientific questions while working in a supportive and dynamic environment.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
A degree (or in the process of completing one) in biology, chemistry, or a related field
A strong academic record
Applicants with long-term goals of pursuing graduate or medical education are particularly encouraged to apply.
As I did a postdoc with Dr. Craig Montell at UCSB, I’ve had the pleasure of mentoring many UCSB alumni in my lab at Monell Center. Many have gone on to publish outstanding papers and continue their training at top institutions such as Johns Hopkins, UCSF, and Cornell.
