Hi Fellow Contra Dancers,

We will be dancing on on Saturday, May 2nd to celebrate Northampton PRIDE.

Caller: Rindle Glick

Band: Aaron Marcus (keyboard, concertina), Rose Powell (guitar)

 and Tory Horner (fiddle)

Our caller Rindle Glick comes from Troy, New York, where they have organized Troy Queer Contra,

 and have been regularly calling at this new welcoming dance!

Aaron is an extraordinary pianist, concertinist, tune-writer and practitioner of traditional community dance styles.

They tour across the US with "Frost & Fire," "Giant Robot Dance," & "The Turning Stile." Aaron believes in the deep emotive healing power of music. 

Their infectious exuberance, Earth grounding, and subtle lyricism all connect with the strong rhythms of the dance floor.

Tory Horner (fiddle) and Rose Powell (guitar) are from Here on the Hill Band - Founded in Cambridge Massachusetts in the fall of 2024.

 Here on the Hill is a dynamic contra and folk band - the duo mixes classic New England contra tunes, old-time tunes, modern gems,

 and original tunes together, creating a new and bold sound that moves dancers and listeners alike.

Time: 7-10 PM with a beginner lesson at 6:30

General Admission: $15- $20 / students $8-$12 

No one turned away due to lack of funds

Dances will be called with the gender-free role terms "Larks & Robins."

This dance is mask-encouraged.

If you’re not feeling well, please stay home and join us next month.

Remember to bring soft-soled, non-marking shoes to protect the wooden dance floor.

Please refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes, and other highly scented products.

All events are smoke, drug, and alcohol free!!
