Louise danced with us and called for JP ECD this June. This Thursday July 16 is the opening of the exhibition displaying work from her residency in Boston. Works from Spring Camp and JP ECD will be included! Please see Louise's note below and the attached flyer for more information.

I’m coming to the end of my residency, and I couldn’t have done it without your support — and the support of the LCFD dancers both at camp and in JP over the past few weeks. I’ve promised a lot of people that I’d let them know about the exhibition opening next Thursday — if you’re willing, could you forward the invitation below to the camp/JP mailing lists? The exhibition will be up through early September at least, so even if people can’t make the opening, they are welcome to stop by anytime to see the show.

The work I’ll be showing from Dancing Queer History will include the felt banner we made at Spring Camp, some video of the dance workshops at camp at at the JP Gender-Free English dance, along with cyanotypes, pigment monoprints, and drypoint collagraphs that explore contemporary and historical dances with queer histories.

The Art Department is excited to announce the opening reception and exhibition for our Artist-in-Residence program, where we will showcase work developed during this year’s residency. 

The evening is an opportunity to view the exhibition, meet the artists, and engage in conversation about the work and its impact. 

The Emmanuel College Artist-in-Residence Program (ECAR) was established to connect practicing artists with the Emmanuel College community and to bring contemporary studio practice into the heart of campus life. Each summer, the program welcomes four artists for a six-week residency in Ceramics, Photography, Printmaking, and Social Practice.
