Hi everybody!
In case you missed Dave Trudgian's message yesterday, the new home for Singularity is now at HPCng, which is being developed as a collaborative space for initiatives and work related to the Next Generation of HPC systems.
Please join me in thanking the Sylabs team for moving these repositories into a non-commercialized community organization and demonstrating their commitment to open source and collaboration.
To that point, I also lead the Warewulf project and I'm working with that team to bring that project also into HPCng as well as contributing new open source projects that I'm funding (and hiring for) now.
Looking forward, I would like to welcome more projects, ideas, and collaboration for anybody interested in the modernization of HPC environments. We will need volunteers to help with: web presence, advisory board leadership, infrastructure, Slack, and email list management, materials creation, conference presences (post COVID), community discussions and outreach programs including advocates and champions for user groups and meetups.
The support we've seen already for this initiative is already very exciting, lots of people and organizations are interested and we are looking forward to facilitating HPC everywhere! Please help us get the word out and feel welcome to join, volunteer, help, and invite others too. Let me know (publicly or privately to reduce spam) if you have any questions, need an invite, and/or want to be part of this community.
Warmest regards everyone and please be well.
Greg
