variable to move an instance's ${HOME}/.singularity log directory?

Hi all,
is there a switch or environment variable to point the `.singularity` to
somewhere else than ${HOME}/.singularity
Else, for home-less users or users without a writable ${HOME} an
instance start fails with something like [1].
It can probably be circumvented with a bit of bind-mounting. But I would
prefer an envvar like SINGULARITY_{CACHEDIR,TMPDIR} to control the
instance log dir 🤔
