Singularity on Slack!

Just wanted to let people know that there is a Singularity instance on Slack!

https://singularity-container.slack.com

If you aren't familiar with Slack, it is a multi-endpoint/multi-device communication platform that persists a searchable history (logged in or not) and facilitates real time communication (arguably better then IRC). It uses teams (instances), and you can register yourself (via email address) for as many teams that you wish to join and control device specific notifications to balance the annoyance factor with usefulness.

I am still very new to Slack... obviously... I didn't realize that people need to have an invitation to join. So on that note, please respond (private is fine) and let me know you want an invite and I will send you one.

On the other hand, if anyone knows how to make joining Slack open to anyone, please let me know!

Slackin is pretty cool! Is there an already hosted one that is easy to use? The reason we don't use some open source solution is exactly the fact that we don't have a server to host it.

Do they need to go to the entire list? .. No they don't. The documented way on the website is to send me an email directly to request an invite, but at the same token, it's never bothered me when people request it here. As a matter of fact, I think it has facilitated a large and welcoming slack team.

If this is generally annoying to people, please voice so, and we can come up with other options. Otherwise there is always email filters. ;-)

Not sure if this is present in the enormous thread below, but you can make a public link via the "Invite People" menu. Select the team name, click on "Invite People". There should be option to copy link.

Links expire in 30 days.
