Hi there,

I'm trying to get geolocation (lat/long) metadata for my uViGs from the IMG website. It appears that the metadata  I've tried a few different approaches now but I'm confused. Additionally, I've flagged what I think are some inconsistencies with the metadata on the webserver and GOLD excel file in red

1. I tried from the IMG/M website to go through all the datasets and redisplay the table including lat/long but most of the lat/long values are missing even tho I can click on the sample and "display on map" and it works.
website issue: lat/long values are missing from the table but internally stored

2. I've tried to download the GOLD database metadata excel file and connect the analysis ID --> Seq project ID --> organism/biosample IDs to get the lat/long
- this works but then how can I link it with the UViGs I have in the ''IMGVR_all_Sequence_information.tsv" table?

3. I have combined approach 1 and 2 (but instead displaying the the Ga and Gp IDs on the website) and then using the GOLD metadata excel file to get the lat/long but I still have the problem to connect to the UViGs.
- from the metadata there are some Taxon_oids which appear in multiple projects which means they could have different lat/long values? therefore I'm not sure where I should merge the lat/long info to the ''IMGVR_all_Sequence_information.tsv".
website issue: there are Ga IDs with missing Gp IDs in the GOLD metadata excel file but the online webserver shows the Gp ID when you redisplay with these values.

The merged metadata tables above do not any information about the scaffolds and the UViGs ''IMGVR_all_Sequence_information.tsv" table does not have information about the the biosamples or projects or organisms it came from (even though on the website, it is possible to display on map). It SOMETIMES has a "analysis project ID" but then there are multiple biosamples within one analysis project with differing lat/long so this also does not work.

Any help is much appreciated!!

Thanks,

Varada
