Hello,

I tried to download data of a genome that I had submitted couple of months. It gives me the following error message even though I am the one who submitted the data. I am analyzing the data for a PI. Could you please help me resolve this issue and let me download the data.

You are logged in as 'My name', but you do not have permission to access the requested private resource or use the requested function. Please, contact Principal Investigator of this project to get access.

I would also like to know whether it is possible to download genome annotations in GFF format file from IMG?

Thank you for your help.

Download is controlled by the JGI Genome Portal Group, not by the IMG Group.

Portal only gives PI access permission. You will have to ask your PI to go to the Portal to grant you access.

Hi I-Min Chen,

I have the same problem, though these were data that I submitted to IMG/ER in collaboration with the PI several years ago and once had complete access to all the raw data.  In fact I was able to access and download data as late as July 2015.  For some reason this no longer happens, any reason why this was changed?  It kind of makes retrieving data for eventual submission to NCBI difficult.

In full disclosure, Kiran is a member of our group, but is in exactly the same situation as myself (had submitted data, has complete access to the annotation available through the IMG/ER web interface, but no access to raw output).

Download is now controlled by the JGI Genome Portal group (not by the IMG group). Only PIs are given download permission. Submitters who are not PIs will have to ask PIs to grant them download permission. Therefore,

  • If you are not the PI (based on the GOLD Analysis Project definition), ask the PI to grant you download permission.
  • If you are the PI and still cannot download, submit a ticket with detailed information (e.g., submission ID, IMG OID, etc.)
