I have illumina shotgun sequencing data (Nextseq) that I would like to upload to IMG. The fastq sequences are contained in 8 files per sample (the samples were spread out on 4 lanes, and they are paired-end reads). Does IMG put together the paired ends? Is it best to submit the fastQ files for the 4 lanes separately? Is it better to do pre-processing/assembly first with other programs before submission?
Thank you for any advice.

IMG does not perform assembly. Therefore, you will need to assemble your own sequence data. We only accept fasta (i.e., no fastq).
