IMG Gold vs. JGI Genome Portal search results

Hello,

I am new to JGI/IMG, and I have searched for downloadable sequences that are part of analysis projects based on "ecosystem subtype" in IMG Gold (alkaline, lake, river, cold seep, etc). However, when it comes to actually downloading those sequences, specifically metagenome analysis projects with assembled.faa files, I am under the impression you must do so via JGI Genome Portal.

The search engine for this website does not, to my knowledge, have a means of searching for downloadable samples based on ecosystem subtype. I have added these subtypes under "keywords", but this leads to considerable differences in results, as the ecosystem subtype is not always included in the project name.

Has anyone encountered this issue or a similar one before, and is there a workaround? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would try using IMG's Find genome search tool, advance search option
