I am interested in accessing the full IMG/M sequence and annotation datasets. My impression is that there is no existing mechanism to do this, based on several things I have read here and on the IMG/M website. Can I get a confirmation on this?
It seems that it might be possible, with some work, to use Globus or the Genome Portal API to download the full IMG/M dataset. I do not see any explicit restrictions on doing this, but I do not want to be a jerk, so I would appreciate some sort of official blessing (or "please don't") before spending any effort setting this up. Is there any restriction on publicly available IMG/M data? From my reading, once IMG/M data becomes public it has either been published already, or has passed the 24 month embargo period, so no explicit permission from the submitter of the data is required. Is this correct?
Also, I would be more than happy to just pay some fee to have a hard drive loaded with the full dataset if this is an option.
Thanks for your help.
