Previously, when the nucleotide sequences of genes were retrieved from fragmented genes e.g. with the specification
"join(1735097..1735255,1735257..1736045)", the smallest and largest coordinate would be used, and the DNA sequence between the start and end would be reported.  

IMG database has been revised to support fragment information (explicitly represented in a RDBMS table).   Now instead of everything between the start and end, the DNA fragments are now joined together in the reported DNA sequence for the gene.   In other words, only the "coding" bases are reported.   This change affects the DNA export tool and the FASTA files for genes that are fragmented.   Genes that are not fragmented (the vast majority of them) are not affected.
