Access to all IMG (IMG, IMG/M, IMG ER, IMG/M ER) data marts require a login and password. You can get an IMG account at: https://img.jgi.doe.gov/request.

IMG Account vs JGI Single Sign On (SSO)

There are two types of log in accounts supported by IMG UI's

1. IMG account, you can request an account here: https://img.jgi.doe.gov/request.
2. JGI SSO account, you can request an account here: https://signon.jgi.doe.gov/register. Users with JGI SSO accounts are encouraged to get an IMG Account as well.
3. If you already have a JGI SSO account and no IMG account. Instead of doing step 1 above, you can just log into IMG and you'll be asked for additional information to be approved for an IMG account / IMG access.

What is the difference?

An IMG account can only be used to log into IMG Web UI's:  (IMG, IMG/M, IMG ER, IMG/M ER). With a JGI SSO account you can log into all of JGI software tools http://www.jgi.doe.gov/software.

If you are only interested in IMG tools and not any another JGI software tools, all you need is an IMG account. You can sign-up for a JGI SSO account later and have the IMG account and JGI SSO merged together.

* No private downloads available to native IMG account holders, not even to their own data. Downloads are done via JGI Portals with JGI SSO accounts.

Requirements for using JGI Single Sign On:

• JavaScript enabled.
  
• Accept cookies from domain *.jgi.doe.gov and *.jgi-psf.org.
  
• IE users you must allow 3rd party cookies and accept both https and http content.

IMG Login Issue:

Many users have had a login issue: users are stuck on the login page. 

The issue is that your browser's cookies have become stale and were not cleared from your previous session.

The solution is to clear all your cookies and refresh the IMG login page.
