A recent upgrade to the system software on NERSC's HPE Cray EX system, Perlmutter, revealed a shortcoming in GASNet-EX which renders the 2022.9.0 release (and earlier) non-functional on that system. Today we have released GASNet-EX 2022.9.2, now available for download from gasnet.lbl.gov, to address that issue and one other. The ChangeLog entry appears below.

2023-01-13: GASNet-EX 2022.9.2 Release (bug fix release)

This bug fix release addresses issues on HPE Cray EX platforms

discovered since the 2022.9.0 release.

* Libfabric (details in ofi-conduit README)

- Add support for providers (including cxi in HPE's libfabric 1.15.2.0)

in which the FI_MR_PROV_KEY and FI_MR_VIRT_ADDR bits of mr_mode differ.

* General and Misc.

- Add a new GASNET_USE_HUGEPAGES environment variable to control run-time use

of hugepages (assuming configure-time support).

- bug4533: RFE: run-time disable for hugepage support

- bug4553: cxi provider assertion failure with libfabric/1.15.2.0
