The Pagoda project at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is pleased to announce the latest release of GASNet-EX, now available for download from gasnet.lbl.gov. Recent changes are described in the ChangeLog. Some highlights include:
Memory Kinds (GPUDirect RDMA) support, previously contained in a distinct prototype, is now part of this production GASNet-EX release.
Performance and scalability improvements on InfiniBand platforms, such as OLCF's Summit
Port to Apple's aarch64 platform (aka "Apple M1" or "Apple Silicon")
GASNet-EX is the next generation of the GASNet communication system. The GASNet interfaces are being redesigned to accommodate the emerging needs of exascale supercomputing, providing communication services to a variety of PGAS programming models on current and future HPC systems. This upgrade is being done as part of the DOE Exascale Computing Project (ECP). Note that additional features are coming soon, and are not yet present in this release.
