Snowmass21 Accelerator Modeling Community White Paper

Hi everyone,

As part of the Snowmass21 process, a subgroup from this mailing list is writing a “Snowmass21 Accelerator Modeling Community White Paper”, summarizing in large part the material that was submitted in the LOIs (https://snowmass-compf2-accbeammodel.github.io/loi/submitted.html), as well as the two following ICFA Beam Dynamics Newsletter #82 articles:

If you are not already involved but would like to be, please respond to this email and I will share the Overleaf document with you.

The plan is to finish writing the core of the paper in the next few days and no later than March 9 (a week from now), then finalize the executive summary before submission on March 15.

Hi everyone,

Version 1 of our Snowmass21 Accelerator Modeling Community White Paper is getting close to ready for submission on Tuesday, March 15 (to anyone who does not have access to the Overleaf document with the white paper, let me know and I will add you to the repo.).

Given that there is little time to finalize the recommendations and executive summary, we have opted for not including any of them yet and work on them after March 15, for submission in a revision later.

Note that we have opted for:

- a single authors list on the front page, in alphabetical order, for everyone who participated to the writing or wants to support the paper.

- a list of co-authors for each section or subsection. This list should only reflect those who participated to the writing of the corresponding section or subsection.

Please check that your name is correctly spelled and present for the sections/subsections that you helped write.

We also added a todo list in the file Comments.txt, which summarized the tasks that remain to accomplish before or after March 15. The todo list is reproduced below:

- Add recommendations at the end of each subsection

- summarize recommendations in one high-level recommendation at the end of each section

- add the list of high-level recommendations to the executive summary

- write the executive summary

- check list of authors of sections/subsections

- check main list of authors

- share with community to gather more support (more added to the authors' list) and check for possible mistake/omissions
