Dear Los Alamos Public Schools,
I encourage you to life the mask mandate in our schools immediately.
Early on in the pandemic, controls were needed at the community/governmental level because there were not adequate individual protections available.
With the advent of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines and treatments (such as monoclonal antibodies) and the widespread availability of N95 masks to individuals, it is time to move away from government control to restore individual responsibility, freedom, and choice.
Please leave the decision of whether or not to wear a mask up to individual students and their families. Thank you!
