I understand that the School Board election districts do not align completely with the schools that students are assigned to attend. That can be quite confusing and misleading for voters, especially given the constant reference to districts based on elementary schools. For example, it's possible for your children to be assigned to attend Pinon but that your School Board voting district is actually for the "Chamisa" district. If this is correct, I hope the County and the current School Board will make it clear that voters should NOT rely on the monikers of "Pinon District", "Chamisa District", "Mountain District," etc and which school their child attends or attended. They need to check which district they are in for election purposes.
It would be useful for a map of these School Board districts to be published so voters are made aware of this issue.
