Dear Superintendent Guy and the LAPS School Board:
I remain deeply concerned about the 38% math proficiency rate in our high school. While LAPS excels in many areas and does an extraordinary job with gifted and special needs students, the majority of our high school students will not be ready for a competitive work force and college demands. What is the plan to improve this? Curriculum, teaching methods, and the role of AI must be addressed. Our students may be relying on AI to solve math problems instead of learning the math. This is why they perform poorly on standardized tests.
