to public....@laschools.net
Hi, I noticed that for tonight's meeting, one of the things on the agenda is removing the language "Regular and special meeting agendas and supporting materials shall be distributed to Board members not less than seventy-two (72) hours prior to the meeting, and shall be provided to the public in accordance with state law." from school board policy 8110 about board meeting agendas. I realize that it doesn't mean LAPS will stop making the board packet available to the public, but given the sometimes less-than-transparent communications from LAPS, it is a little worrying.

I find access to the board packet, in addition to the agenda, invaluable. It helps me know if there are issues I want to follow along with in more detail than the agenda. Generally I watch the school board meetings on zoom, as that way I don't have to find childcare to attend. It also means that there are more distractions, and if I miss something, I can refer back to the packet to catch up. In this way, I'm better able to be an informed community member.

Thank you,
Erin Tatge
