KATELYN ALARID
Dear School and District Board Members, I hope this letter finds you well.
My name is Katelyn Alarid, a junior at Los Alamos High School. I participate in volleyball, Natural Helpers, Ivote and Eco club here at the high school. I am also a student at Los Alamos County.
While in the process of reviewing all three calendar options, I believe that calendar C is the most beneficial to students here in Los Alamos. This option would still allow for a normal summer that wouldn't affect many students' summer jobs that they rely on for personal income. I think this option isn't much of a change from the previous calendar that has worked for many years in the past.
Although calendar B allows for more breaks for students, many of the student body here at Los Alamos High School participate in sports. These breaks are taken up by practice for these students who are involved in a sport. Not allowing them to be on vacation or travel. I think that calendar C is the best option for high school students.
