Ms. Guy and members of the board,
I just wanted to thank you for the increased transparency in covid case reporting over the last few weeks. Having the grade levels listed in the document is extremely helpful.
I did notice that there continue to be new cases at Barranca. The reopen date is currently set for 10/18. If there are still a high number of new cases this week, will that be reexamined? Will they be going back to the mitigation measures that were announced before the closure?
Thank you for being so transparent with the cases and risk mitigation measures. It is very important information even for those who are not a part of a particular school community. Los Alamos is a small, very interconnected town. Students from all elementary schools attend and mix at the same activities outside of school, whether it is sports, scouting, or religious organizations. I know that the local Cub Scout Troop has made risk assessment and event decisions based on the information coming from the school district. I hope that we can all continue to work together on this issue.
