To Whom It May Concern:
I am Luckie Daniels, custodial parent of Jaiya Devi Daniels, a Sophomore at Los Alamos High School. This is my formal request to speak before the LAPS School Board, at the upcoming session (October 11th), in regard to the refusal of Los Alamos Public School leadership (specifically, Jose Delfin and Jennifer Guy) to provide me with information related to the LAPS district's Equity initiatives and historical activities, as mandated by the State of New Mexico.
Since September 23rd, I have exchanged some 30+ email communications requesting very specific equity/DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility) information as it relates to the District's efforts. My questions remain unanswered and unaddressed by either party. I have even been told equity documents/historicals are not being shared with me, a LAPS parent, in an effort to prevent the information from being "misconstrued".
As I plan to escalate these concerns on a state level, I am requesting an opportunity to bring them before the board as a matter of public record. I am also preparing to bring printed copies of the numerous email communications with me to the school board session on 10/11 and to share the timestamped documentation thread with PED/NM media if this matter remains unresolved.
Regards,
Luckie Daniels
