Dear LAPS School Board,
I would like to convey my disappointment regarding the stay on mask mandates for pre-K. Both medical and psychological experts have expressed that there are not only health repercussions, but emotional and intellectual repercussions of masking young children.
Children in this age group are also at low risk for the disease and spread of disease. Please take a look at the CDC website which provides cumulative data over two years (and yet does not include Omicron which has far less severe symptoms) and compare the
likelihood of children in this age group contracting covid, hospitilization and death compared to the elderly. It is low.
I hope that you will reconsider.
