I am a parent who continues to teach advanced, standard math to my child who is in our Los Alamos Schools because our schools do not have curriculum thorough enough to work with. My child has advanced testing stats due my 7+ years of investment.
Recent stats show our students, overall, still struggling with math. The Common Core curriculum is a proven failure. It is time to return to the proven, standard math curriculum. It was telling when a middle school math teacher opined that she could teach higher math to the kids because they had not memorized their basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and disivision. Repetition and memorization are foundational to understanding and processing higher math.
I would be more than happy to share with you my currculum of choice. It is outstanding. I personally used it 40 years ago when I was in school and it outpaced public schools back then. It worked then and still works now. Thank you!
