Dear School Board members,
Thank you for your service to our community. I know it takes lots of hours - and I appreciate your efforts.
I live on Manhattan Loop - the kids on my street attend Aspen Elementary, but because of the district boundaries - I am assigned to the Pinon school district. Looking at the size of the districts - I think this has been done to make the population of the districts fairly equal.
But I simply don't know the families of and/or the kids who attend Pinon School.
And I know some on Barranca Mesa are in a similar situation - their kids go to Barranca Elementary, but they vote in the Aspen District.
I'd like to ask that this be changed - if it is within the power of the School Board. I would much prefer to vote in the district the kids in my neighborhood attend. Although the size of the districts will vary - I think it is more important for people to be represented by the person from the district where their kids go to elementary school.
Thank you for your consideration.
