I am a senior at LAHS, as well as Student Body Publicist, and a member of the cheerleading team. With heightened conversations about the mask mandates I was hoping to express my point of view to be taken into consideration.
Being a part of such a strong community, with one of the highest vaccination rates in the state, I believe that as individuals we will make the decisions best for ourselves. With that being said I feel like we should be given the choice to make that decision. I am hoping that soon I will finally be able to see my classmates smiles and truly be able to recognize them in the future. I am fully aware that not all my peers feel the same way, and that masks provide a level of comfort, which I respect. The numbers are always fluctuating I can say that I may not feel comfortable not wearing a mask at times, but our community is smart and will be able to determine when masks are necessary.
I am hopeful that I will be able to see my classmates face for the first time since sophomore year.
Thank you.
