Dear Los Alamos School Board,
I am a parent of two boys enrolled in the Los Alamos Schools, a 7th grader and a senior. The COVID restrictions imposed over the last two years have been devastating for both my boys both academically and socially. The negative impacts of the COVID mandates, including lockdowns and masks especially on children are well documented. Meanwhile, the risk of severe COVID and/or death in school aged children is vanishingly small. The parents have the right to assess the risk of exposure to this disease and make personal medical decisions for their own families as they see fit. We don’t need further restrictions, especially when those restrictions are causing demonstrable harm to our children.
Regards,
Jonathan Teague
