LAPS School Board and Dr. Steinhaus,

Chamisa's PTO is requesting donations of cleaning supplies.  Transition criteria have not been met if there isn't already a 3 months supply on hand;  we cannot rely on PTO drives to supply these critical resources.

I'm concerned that there is either a lack of supply or an opportunity to improve communication and supply management.

Is there objective evidence that LAPS has 3 months supply PPE and cleaning supplies?
  • Is there a list of PPE and cleaning supplies that are required to meet the transition criteria set by the LAPS Board?
  • Has a 3 month supply been defined for each item? For example, how many canisters of wipes are required per classroom?  Gallons of hand sanitizer?  Number of disposable masks?
  • Is the supply maintained at the classroom, school, or district level?
  • Is there a mechanism for tracking inventory of PPE and cleaning supplies at these different levels?
  • Is there a procedure for individual teachers or principals to request supplies?

Thank you for addressing this concern,
