Dear Dr. Steinhaus and School Board,
I am so grateful that the Governor has allowed all districts to begin in-person instruction starting February 8th. However, I noticed on your email that on February 9th, you will begin "considering reopening options and timelines." I'm confused - Haven't you been planning for the eventual reopening for the better part of the last year? In my opinion, now is not the time to drag our feet on reopening. Doing that would then open the door for some to say, "Look, it's not worth opening for just 2 or 3 months. Let's just stay closed until the next school year." As the parent of a senior, I would be very upset to see this happen, especially given the ingenuity of our district and county. Let's not rob our students of these once-in-a-lifetime moments when it's easily within our power to safely make it happen now.
