Good Morning,
I am writing to strongly support the addition of scientific professionals to help the school leadership in any way they can. As a parent, I too look forward to the day when restrictions ease and eventually go away. Sooner the better for me as well. However, I look to the appropriate professionals to make that decision and trust they have the communities best interest at heart. Our school nurse has done an excellent job of reacting and keeping parents informed.
As a Barranca parent, I am also concerned by the higher case numbers at this school throughout the pandemic given the size of its student population. With three children attending, this has caused a lot of stress and lost school.
What is being done to find out why on a facts basis? I’m not looking to “out” anyone specifically on a personal level but it is important to identify and do what we can to improve this. Blanket precautions won’t solve the root problem and affect us all.
For example, do we have a less vaccinated staff/children population, are kids/parents less compliant and bringing cases to school, is it the school less successful in executing precautions, is there something else environmental? Once we know, we react/adjust in a fact-based way. To ignore these numbers is concerning and I haven’t see anything addressing it to-date.
Sincerely,
Melissa Doran
