One of the things that made Chamisa hybrid successful is the schedule we set up.  For many of my special ed kids, not having contact with the classroom teacher for 5 days in a row means that material is NOT retained.  They need frequent practice/reminders of what they have learned, and I am afraid that the "standard" hybrid model will be disastrous for many of my students.

Another thing the board needs to be aware of is that the transitions have been very difficult for many kids.  Kids were doing very well in our first season of remote, and transitioned well to hybrid.  However, when we transitioned back to remote, the kids have had a much more difficult time.  Our work completion is lower than it was the first time of remote.

The board needs to consider our plan forward carefully.  Flip flopping back and forth is hard on both teachers and students.  Teachers need one "mode", being allowed to be in that mode long enough to get really good at it.  From what I hear, the teachers at the remote academy are doing a fantastic job, and have time to perfect their teaching.
