Good Afternoon LPHS Band Families!

 

**Legalese:  The details included in this email are subject to District 108 Administration and Board of Education approval.  This is a routine step in approving all co-curricular travel plans, and a final approval will be decided on by the Board in the future.**

 

It is with great excitement to announce that our Lancer Marching Band has been accepted to perform at the 2020 Thanksgiving Parade of Bands at Walt Disney World! 

 

Each year, the Thanksgiving Parade of Bands at Walt Disney World brings together bands from around the country to perform in Disney’s Magic Kingdom (last year’s location was Epcot), visit the parks of Walt Disney World, experience all the Disney Magic, and much more!

This one-of-a-kind event includes:

• A featured Thanksgiving Day performance with the Presidio Brass, for a live in-park and webcast audience
• The opportunity to work closely with distinguished clinicians and the Presidio Brass
• Interaction with other schools in a non-competitive format
• An extravagant Thanksgiving dinner, awards ceremony, and private performance by the Presidio Brass

During the week of November 23, 2020, the Marching Band will be headed to Orlando, Florida to perform, sightsee, strengthen our Band Family, and take in all the incredible opportunities and experiences that Walt Disney World has to offer!  Exact dates will be established before Winter Break.

 

This tour is not required; however, it is open to Marching Band Students ONLY—students must be part of the 2020 Marching Band to be eligible for this trip.
