Hello,

In conjunction with the cancer walk we held in October, we will be presenting Phil's Friends with a $700 check for half of the amount we raised (an additional check in the amount of $700 was sent to the American Cancer Society). Along with giving them the check, we are asking for volunteers to attend one of their 90 minute sessions in which we will be coloring and decorating care package boxes and Cards of Hope as well as packing care packages for those with cancer. This session will take place Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 6:30-8:00PM. There is only space for 30 volunteers so please sign up here - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E044CABA62DA4F85-phils  

Here is some information from Phil's Friends. If you are planning to attend, please be sure to fill out the Volunteer Waiver form using the link below.

·         All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Waiver Form the first time they volunteer.  You can access the form by visiting our website at https://philsfriends.org/individual-volunteer-opportunities/. Any volunteer under the age of 18 must have a form submitted by their parent or legal guardian.  Please ensure this form is completed online before your event.

 

·         Phil’s Friends is 100% donor funded, we request that all volunteers attending consider providing a donation to help us further our mission.  Financial gifts are our largest need at this time.

 

·         If you prefer to donate items, our current needs are BLANKETS, puzzle books, playing cards, journals, fuzzy socks

 

·         The volunteer event will start promptly at the scheduled time so we request that your group arrive 15 minutes prior to allow time for check in.

 

·         Encourage your group to come prepared with 2 or more Care Package requests.  Ask friends, family, neighbors, co-workers if they know of anyone who could be blessed by a Care Package.  Bring the completed requests and your group can personally pack those Care Packages at your volunteer event! The Care Package Request form is attached.

 

·         Our Hope Center is located at 1350 Lake Street, Suite I, Roselle, IL.  Parking is available behind the Thornton’s Gas Station.  You may enter through the side glass doors.
