The Public Works Crew will be conducting fire hydrant flushing over the next several days.
During this process, you may notice temporary discoloration or brown water. This is normal and occurs when naturally occurring minerals in the pipes are stirred up. The water remains safe, but we recommend:
Avoid doing laundry until the water runs clear.
Run your cold water taps for a few minutes if discoloration occurs.
Hydrant flushing is an important part of maintaining water quality and ensuring that all hydrants are functioning properly for fire protection.
