Hi.

Looking for input from the diy/hobbyists in lvl1.

I'm considering a project where I have a:

 laptop
has a "usb coonection/port" requires the female usb connection on the usb cable

the usb cable would connect to the usb multiport device (ac/dc) power adapter
usb multiport device required to extend/allow multiple usb devices

 for usb multiport device
what usb cables would be required?
is usb 3/2 better? I've seen sites with diff information, but thought I'd post here as well. so thanks.

the multiport usb device would also have "multiple" extern 2.5" hdd usb case for 2.5" 1tb hdd.
has anyone used these devices/cases, any suggestions on the usb cable to connect with the case and multiport device.  (amazon pics imply the devices come with their own cable, but I can't be sure)

My basic question(s) get to what type of usb cables I should get 2/3, as well as A/B/C for the complete cable and the endpoints.

thoughts/comments welcome.

thanks.
