Um. Sorry, what is "code Louisville"?  I have never heard of them, but from the title, I'm sorry to hear that they are closing.

code louisville!!

a number of years ago.. I believe the city and others put together a non profit org to teach coding using non paid mentors.

the idea as I understand it was to help create entry level devs to overcome the shortage of devs in the area...

All their courses were free. I took a web development course with them last year. 6 months, well structured, and great community. I can’t believe they have to shut down for lack of support after more than 10 years. The founder pointed out that these are difficult times for entry-level developers to get a job, and that is their whole mission. So whoevers were supporting the organization has lost interest.

They posted about the closure on LinkedIn. Mentioned that demand for the program was low.

Oh man. I went to three classes there from 2017 to 2018. Crazy to hear it’s closing, most of the new people who stopped by KYOSS for awhile were from Code Louisville.

Too bad. It has been a good run. Several years ago I did some mentoring at Code Louisville.

I guess it's now on us, more than before, to build and create the community.

Thanks,
Alan
