HackKentucky hackathon: September 11-12, 2026

This came up in the meeting last night, I thought I’d pass along preliminary information here.

This September, HackKentucky will hold its next hackathon.  It’ll be in Louisville, KY, starting at 4pm US Eastern on Friday, September 11, 2026, and go for 24 hours (no sleeping on-site).  HackKentucky is actually joining forces with Hack the Track, which was another Louisville Hackathon that targeted students.

HackKentucky targets students (high school and college) and early-stage professionals.  You can bring your own team, or you can come solo and create a team on-site.  You can bring your own idea of what to create, or you can accept a challenge from one of the sponsors (i.e., they supply the idea).  At the end, you pitch + demo what you created to judges.

They’re still in the early stages of planning, so there’s little to no web information yet.  But I thought I’d at least get this on peoples’ radar — mark it down on your calendars!

HackKentucky is a *great* opportunity to meet and hang out with like-minded hackers, and experience the rush of creating something from scratch in 24 hours.
