This group is for parents of students at K.W. Barrett Elementary School in Arlington, Virginia. It is used to send announcements or reminders about upcoming school events, to solicit volunteers for various school activities, to request information from experienced Barrett parents about various aspects of life at Barrett, to share education-related articles of interest to parents, and to stimulate discussion about school-related issues.

The opinions and suggestions posted are those of individuals and do not reflect the official position of the Barrett Elementary School PTA or Barrett Elementary School.

Please be aware of and abide by the forum guidelines. The forum is moderated by the Barrett PTA which manages the membership. Any member who refuses to adhere to list guidelines can be restricted to “read only” status or removed from the Barrett forums.

Members should:

- Include your name in the message.

- Be aware that any information posted is public so share wisely and be sensitive when disclosing personal information.

- Do not post unsolicited business advertisements; the listserv should not be used to promote any business or for personal gain.

- Do not advocate on behalf of candidates for the Board of Education or political office.

- Be respectful and courteous; keep posts informational; any debates about issues should be taken offline.

- postings that are demeaning to any group of people (racial, religious, etc);

- remarks that are inflammatory, offensive, or derogatory; or

- personal attacks against members who have posted to the list.
