[sig-scheduling] [Exception Request] KEP-5491: DRA: List Types for Attributes - Code Freeze Excepiton for v1.36

Hi,

I am writing to file an code freeze exception request for the following enhancement. Please find the details below:

• Enhancement name: DRA: List Types for Attributes
• Enhancement status (alpha/beta/stable): alpha
• SIG: sig-scheduling, wg-device-management
• k/enhancements repo issue #: https://github.com/kubernetes/enhancements/issues/5491
• PR #’s: https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/pull/137190
• Additional time needed (in calendar days, due end of day AoE): 3 days (due March 21, 2026 AoE)
• Reason this enhancement is critical for this milestone: This enhancement enables achieving more flexible/efficient device selection in DRA, especially scheduling PCIe topologically aligned CPU-GPU-NIC triple. The feature is crucial to high-performance distributed AI workloads(both training and inference). The feature is intended to alpha release in v1.36. The implementation is already done and has received approval from API review and DRA part. The remaining work is supplemental reviews from scheduler part and CEL part.
• Risks from adding code late: (to k8s stability, testing, etc.): Low. The feature is completely behind the "DRAListTypeAttributes" feature gate
• Risks from cutting enhancement: (partial implementation, critical customer usecase, etc.): There is no way to define device attributes with list types. This is a crucial feature for high-performance distributed AI workloads as described in "Reason this enhancement is critical for this milestone" section. DRA CPU driver would be a potential first user of this feature. Cutting would delay this capability in v1.37, extending the feature gap by another release cycle.
