Hi all,

We would like to request an exception to the PRR freeze for KEP-5823 Pod-level Checkpoint/Restore. A few hours before the deadline, we were missing a PRR approver. Kevin has confirmed that he is happy to help us with the review, and we have updated the KEP.

  • Enhancement name: Pod-Level Checkpoint/Restore
  • Enhancement status (alpha/beta/stable): alpha
  • WG: wg-checkpoint-restore
  • k/enhancements repo issue #: 5823
  • PR #’s: https://github.com/kubernetes/enhancements/pull/5851
  • Additional time needed (in calendar days, due end of day AoE): 1
  • Reason this enhancement is critical for this milestone: We would like to provide the minimal set of CRI interfaces for the Pod-level Checkpoint/Restore functionality. These CRI changes would enable the development of the Pod checkpoint/restore functionality in runtimes such as CRI-O and containerd.
  • Risks from adding code late: n/a
  • Risks from cutting enhancement: n/a
Many thanks,
Radostin

Hi all,

The release team is APPROVING this exception request for KEP-5823 based on the discussion in the Slack thread[0]. We see all the PRR requirements are met with the open PR.

Thanks,
