[IMPORTANT] Maintainer Scholarship Applications for KubeCon EU 2024

Hi folks,

Maintainer Scholarship applications for KubeCon EU 2024 are now open [1]. The applications are due by Sunday, January 7, 2024.

The scholarship page lists the following criteria:

Applicants should be active CNCF project maintainers who are not being assisted or sponsored by a company or organization, and are unable to attend for financial reasons. To qualify as an active maintainer, your name must appear on this list: https://github.com/cncf/foundation/blob/main/project-maintainers.csv

For Kubernetes, those in a SIG/WG/Committee leadership roles automatically count as maintainers and do not need to be listed in project-maintainers.csv [2]. If you as a chair or technical lead know that someone from your group who is not a Chair or TL would need scholarship to attend the conference, please reach out to steering...@kubernetes.io; we can vouch for the contributor and pass on more context to CNCF. In case you plan to reach out to us, please do so in advance before the application deadline.

Also, gentle reminder to utilize Subproject Lead positions to promote contributors in your SIG who might already be doing the work.
