As much as I'd like to see this progress to beta, the requirements outlined
in the KEP [1] have not been met for this functionality to move forward. 
I'm missing the following:
- integration and e2e tests,
- the two above PRs seem to be requiring a bit more time to land.

On top of that, we should keep in mind the recent, increased requirements 
for beta features [2]. So with all that as one of sig-apps leads I'm against
granting an exception for this KEP. I will continue working with the author
during the 1.35 cycle, to be ready for beta promotion. 

Still, I'd like to give a big shoutout to Edwin and Heba for their work and 
continued support to land this very long standing feature.
