[ANNOUNCEMENT] Potential 1.24 Release Delay

Hi Kube Community,
This email is advance notification of a possible delay to the Kubernetes 1.24 release day, which is currently scheduled for 19th April.
We are tracking a release-blocking bug [0], which is resolved by a fix to Go [1] which we expect to be included in the Go 1.18.1 release [2]. As that release of Go has now been delayed until Tuesday 12th April [3], we may need to delay 1.24.0-rc.0 further [4] to include the fix which may result in a delay to 1.24.0’s main release.
We’re tracking this issue closely, and I’ll reach out to the community again when we know more. In the meantime you can follow along on our GitHub Discussion on the topic [5]. If you have any general comments or concerns, please do speak to us in #sig-release on Slack [6].
