Hey Dear Contributors!
We are happy to announce the KUBERNETES CONTRIBUTOR SUMMIT China 2023, Shanghai, which will coincide with KubeCon Shanghai 2023. The event brings together new and current Kubernetes contributors alike to connect and share face-to-face. The summit will be a loosely organized half-day event taking place on September 26th in Shanghai, China at the Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center Of International Sourcing[1].
TL;DR
Registration & CFPs[3] are OPEN!
Registrations have started from August 29th.
In-person attendance is limited to Kubernetes Org members and sponsored attendees.
By “Kubernetes Org member,” we mean a member of ANY official Kubernetes Org, for example kubernetes [4] or kubernetes-sigs [5]
If you are an active contributor but not a member, please consider applying for org membership [6]! The barrier of entry is lower than you think :) If you have questions, please reach out to comm...@kubernetes.io.
This year, we are also inviting regular Etcd Project contributors to attend in anticipation of Etcd becoming a SIG[7]
We are initiating the Call for Proposals (CFPs) ahead of our typical schedule. We encourage submissions pertinent to members of the Kubernetes organizations. Particularly, if you're introducing changes in this cycle that impact multiple SIGs or have a subject matter beneficial for the broader community, we'd love to hear from you.
CFP Dates:
CFP Opens: Tuesday, August 29th
CFP Closes: Sunday, September 10th
CFP Notification: Friday, September 15th
Schedule Announced: Tuesday, September 19th
Visit the Call for Proposals [3] to submit your CFP. The Summit will also include one room of unconference-style[8] sessions, which allows contributors to hold discussions around topics that become important in the month before the summit.
Check out the Kubernetes Contributor Summit[2] website for additional information and to register.
Check out the summit site[2] and stay up to date on all things summit-related. This in-person event will follow KubeCon’s Health & Safety Guidelines [9]. As a friendly reminder, this is a community event. As such, the Code of Conduct [10] applies to all attendees of the summit and the reception.
Reach out to summit-team@kubernetes.io with any questions.
See you there!
Paco Xu, Mengjiao Liu, and Kevin Wang, on behalf of the Contributor Summit planning team
