Node Feature Discovery v0.19.0 has been released.
Highlights:
- Immediate node re-labeling after a node rebuild: nfd-master now detects a
recreated Node via the NodeFeature owner-reference/pod-UID metadata and
restores labels immediately, instead of waiting for the periodic resync.
- Configurable NodeFeature owner references (-owner-refs / core.ownerRefs:
pod, ds, node; default pod,ds).
- core.noPublishFeatures to slim the NodeFeature objects published by
nfd-worker.
- New x86-64 microarchitecture level labels: cpu-cpuid.X86_64_V1..V4.
- nfd-topology-updater now serves per-pod lookups from a node-scoped Pod
informer, eliminating high-volume per-pod GETs at scale. NOTE: this needs
an RBAC update (list/watch on pods) — see the action-required notes.
- Reconcile performance: spec-change-only reconciliation and cached
NodeFeatureRule regexp compilation.
Please review the action-required notes before upgrading — in particular the
topology-updater RBAC update and the removal of the env/expandenv/
getHostByName template functions:
