Progressing Features (Alpha->Beta, Beta->GA and general cleanup)

Folks,

As the sigs are planning for 1.33, Can each SIG please review the current state of affairs for features that they own?

Here's what we should be doing:

- Identify things that are struggling and stick for a very long time (Example i poked at last week was EventedPLEG stuck since 1.26)

- Check What would be required to move them from Alpha to Beta or Beta to GA

- If already in GA, if/when they should be enabled and when locked to default (ExecProbeTimeout in GA + enabled but not locked! since 1.20)

- Assign folks to update relevant KEPs and get them updated.

Hi all,

Baofa Fan and I went through all feature gates that were not updated after v1.28.

You can check those  status and details in the sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IxBtCeWOI8qWjF5jauT7pzfKwJssEhHErS4L6VcHgnU/edit?gid=0#gid=0. (this is based on gist/dims/a0ecf5d#gistcomment-5394512)

• Some features are with blockers(blocking issue, containerd feature, and even kernel features) and some are in review(KEP or k/k PR) for a long time.

The status in the spreadsheet was updated according to Jan 11th, 2025 status and I will try to update it according to the recent update.
